Dr. Ong Guan Hong is our Senior Resident Physician at Pancare Medical Clinic. He is an experienced primary care and family doctor. His passion for primary healthcare began as a medical student when he realized the difference a good general physician can make.

Dr. Ong has accumulated a wealth of experience to help him approach primary healthcare holistically. He has completed postings in Changi General Hospital (CGH) general medicine, CGH orthopedics, KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) obstetrics and gynecology, CGH Accident & Emergency (A&E), Pasir Ris Polyclinic, National Skin Centre and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) ophthalmology. He has shown leadership capabilities through his appointment as Chief House Officer and Chief Medical Officer in these postings. He also received a best Medical Officer award in 2014.

Dr. Ong has special interests in ophthalmology, pediatrics, and simple surgical procedure. He spent 2 years in KTPH Ophthalmology in which he won the 1st prize in the "Innovation and Patient Safety" category at International Ophthalmology Congress organized by the National Healthcare Group. He was also a visiting doctor at Singapore National Eye Centre in 2016.

Dr. Ong is a regular doctor at Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) since 2014 till now where he has exposure to pediatric cases and works alongside pediatricians and gynecologists at Thomson Medical Centre (TMC). During his stint at CGH A&E, Mount Elizabeth A&E, and KTPH Opthalmology, Dr. Ong has demonstrated his competency in repairing facial wounds and lacerations elsewhere. He is also competent in incision and drainage of infected abscesses including eyelid styes. In addition, he is trained in hydrocortisone and lignocaine injections for joint inflammations and the removal of warts and callosities.

Continuing medical education is an important aspect of keeping doctors up-to-date and relevant. Dr. Ong has certificates of competency in Botox injection, dermatological lasers use, palliative medicine, fillers, chemical peels, and ophthalmic microsurgical course.

He is currently pursuing his graduate diploma in family medicine.
