Dr Agnes Tay graduated from the NUS Faculty of Medicine in 1984 and obtained her Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) in 1987. After qualifying in Paediatrics, Dr Tay pursued her interest in molecular genetics and obtained her PhD in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Toronto in 1994.
Upon her return to Singapore, Dr Tay worked in both the NUS laboratory and National University Hospital (NUH) as an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics. In addition to basic science research in signal transduction, she embarked upon studies in complex genetic diseases like epilepsy, asthma and allergies.
Dr Tay was previously in solo private practice in Jurong. Her special interest has been in asthma and allergies.
Outside of work, Dr Tay enjoys reading, writing, travelling and Pilates.
